Admission Process
Entry Requirements
Candidates applying for the 1-Year DG Shipping–Approved Graduate Marine Engineering (GME) course must meet one of the following academic qualifications:
Category (a)
Full-time B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical-based Engineering Streams such as:
- Mechanical and Automation
- Mechanical and Electronics
- Mechanical and Automobile
Category (b)
All Naval Architecture streams, such as:
- Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering
- Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding
Category (c)
- B.E. / B.Tech in Marine Engineering
Category (d)
- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
Additional Academic Conditions
- The above B.E. / B.Tech or higher degree (such as a 5-year integrated M.E. / M.Tech) must be obtained from an AICTE-approved institute, IIT, or University Engineering College (a college directly run by a recognized university).
- Candidates from Category (a) and (b) (combination streams) must pass Part ‘A’ subjects of both MEO Class-IV and MEO Class-II examinations.
- They may be exempted from appearing in Mathematics and Applied Mechanics subjects.
- Candidates from Category (c) and (d) are fully exempted from appearing in all Part ‘A’ subjects of both MEO Class-IV and MEO Class-II examinations.
- The candidate’s college or university must have AICTE or UGC approval.
Age: Maximum 28 years of age at the time of course commencement
Panel Interview
Eligible candidates will be shortlisted and invited for an online interview followed by an online aptitude test to assess their suitability for the maritime profession.
Medical Examination
Candidates who qualify the interview and test must undergo a comprehensive medical examination by a DG Shipping–approved doctor.
For convenience, this examination can also be conducted by our in-house DG Shipping–approved medical officer.
Pre-Sea Training
Selected candidates will undergo a 1-Year DG Shipping–Approved Graduate Marine Engineering (GME) Pre-Sea Training Program.
